Accountant - Real Estate - NYC

Seeking a driven, intellectually curious accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment and is eager to take on a broad range of responsibilities, including ownership of monthly reporting such as accounting close files, balance sheet and income statement analytics, book value reviews, expense trend analysis, and other earnings‑attribution work.

Description

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting procedures.
• Participate in internal and external audits as needed.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
• Provide support for SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as necessary.

Profile

A successful Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting practices.
• Familiarity with SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
