They are looking for a superintendent that enjoys running large projects to come in and lead complex project across a diverse range of industries and sectors.

Client Details

My client is a large general contractor that specializes in complex projects. They are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Union Construction Superintendent to oversee all aspects of our construction projects. As the Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Description

  1. Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities:
  • Create daily work schedules for construction crews, ensuring all workers are on task and that the work is performed efficiently.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors, ensuring they meet project goals and timelines.
  • Monitor and track progress throughout the construction process, identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized construction site at all times.
  1. Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets:
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including critical path analysis and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all costs are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Monitor project expenditures and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures to keep the project within budget.
  1. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders:
  • Attend meetings with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure they meet the project's needs and requirements.
  • Work with the project team to develop and implement quality control measures.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed of progress and any issues that arise.
  1. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies:
  • Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring that all workers are trained in proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies, ensuring that all workers are compliant with safety requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and identify potential safety hazards, taking corrective action as necessary.
  1. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and union representatives:
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the project.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and union representatives to ensure a smooth construction process.
  • Work with union representatives to ensure that all labor agreements are adhered to and that any disputes are resolved quickly.

Profile

  1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large and complex projects:
  • Proven track record of managing successful projects from start to finish.
  • Experience managing large teams of workers and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects and navigate challenging situations.
  1. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and safety regulations:
  • Expert knowledge of construction techniques, including foundation work, framing, electrical and plumbing systems, and finish work.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  1. Experience managing union labor and working with union representatives:
  • Proven experience managing union labor on large construction projects.
  • Strong relationships with union representatives and a demonstrated ability to resolve disputes.
  1. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  1. Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications:
  • Expert knowledge of reading and interpreting project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ability to make modifications to plans and specifications as necessary.
