Quality Engineer- Aerospace- Bloomfield, CT
The Quality Engineer will develop and edit CMM programs (PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS), interpret engineering drawings and CAD models, and define inspection strategies for machined components. They will ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards, support FAI and PPAP documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Description
The Quality Engineer (aerospace) will:
- Develop and modify CMM programs using PC-DMIS and/or MCOSMOS for inspection of machined parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to define inspection strategies.
- Select and set up appropriate fixturing, tooling, and methods to ensure accurate measurements.
- Conduct inspections to verify product compliance with drawings and customer requirements.
- Perform and analyze measurement system studies, including gage R&R and MSA.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection plans, FAI, and PPAP.
- Ensure all quality processes and documentation meet internal and customer standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply statistical methods (e.g., SPC) to monitor and improve inspection processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per company standards.
- Perform additional quality-related tasks as assigned by leadership.

Profile
The successful applicant will have:
- 3+ years of experience in CMM programming using PC-DMIS and/or MCOSMOS.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and engineering drawings/specifications.
- Hands-on experience with quality inspection and assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
- Proficient in creating and maintaining quality documentation (e.g., control plans, FAI, PPAP).
- Experience with measurement system analysis (MSA), including gage R&R studies.
- Skilled in using statistical tools (e.g., SPC, Minitab) for data analysis and process control.
- Ability to identify appropriate fixturing and setups for accurate and repeatable inspection.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Effective communicator and team player across cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship required due to project and compliance regulations.
