With a major project recently secured in Charlottesville, they're looking to add an Assistant Superintendent to support the build and grow with a top-tier team.

Description

The Assistant Superintendent - Charlottesville | Large Projects will be responsible for:

  • Supporting daily on-site operations, ensuring work is safe, on schedule, and within budget
  • Assisting in managing and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to meet milestones
  • Enforcing compliance with project plans, specs, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Participating in daily inspections and safety meetings; maintaining an organized and secure job site
  • Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues and keep projects aligned
  • Scheduling and supervising all construction phases, from site prep through punch list and closeout
  • Maintaining accurate field documentation including daily logs, progress photos, and subcontractor reports
  • Supporting quality control by regularly inspecting work in progress
  • Managing material deliveries, equipment, and on-site logistics to prevent delays and improve efficiency
  • Facilitating communication and coordination between trades to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth workflow
  • Serving as a key on-site contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Monitoring project budgets and assisting in identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to crew members and junior team member

Profile

The Assistant Superintendent - Charlottesville | Large Projects will have:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Superintendent roles in commercial construction
  • Exposure to large-scale, ground-up projects valued at $80M+
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and site logistics
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical documents
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project)
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Experience assisting in mentoring and leading crew members
