Estimator - DSA/K-12 - Sonoma County
As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in the preconstruction and budgeting phases of their modular DSA projects. You'll work closely with their leadership team, project managers, and repeat subcontractor base to develop accurate, strategic estimates that support the team's design-build delivery.

My client is a family-run, design-build modular General Contractor specializing in public works and DSA construction throughout California. Their approach focuses on negotiated public work projects-not hard bids-giving them the flexibility to select projects and partners that align with their values. With repeat subcontractor relationships, a collaborative culture, and a focus on quality over quantity, they have become a trusted builder for school districts and public agencies alike.
The team enjoys long tenures, minimal turnover, and a supportive, flexible work environment. While their headquarters is in Santa Rosa, they also have a satellite office in Aptos and team members working remotely and from project sites across the state.
With several upcoming DSA projects ranging from $2.5M to $30M, they're looking to add an experienced and collaborative Estimator to support their continued growth.
Description
Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular public works projects, with a focus on DSA requirements
Analyze plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
Work collaboratively with the project team to develop budgets during early design phases
Coordinate and communicate with repeat subcontractors to solicit pricing and ensure competitive coverage
Participate in project selection, budgeting strategy, and value engineering efforts
Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating templates
Support project handoff and transition to project management team
Stay current on DSA requirements, market pricing, and industry trends
Profile
5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, preferably with DSA or modular building experience
Strong knowledge of public works contracting and DSA design/construction standards

Job Offer
