Description

The Senior Estimator is responsible for:

• Preparing detailed electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and design/build projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing
• Soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating vendor and subcontractor quotations
• Working closely with Project Managers to support bid strategy, budgeting, and project handoff
• Developing bid proposals, inclusions/exclusions, and clarification documents
• Participating in pre‑bid meetings, site walks, and client discussions as needed
• Supporting change order pricing and ongoing cost updates during project execution
• Contributing to process improvement within the estimating department as the team continues to grow

Profile

The right Senior Estimator will have:

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience or a background as a journeyman electrician transitioning into estimating
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, materials, and labor productivity
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
• Proficiency with standard estimating methodologies (conceptual, design/build, detailed takeoffs)
• Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
• Experience collaborating across estimating, operations, and project management teams
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple deadlines
