Civil Engineer
A civil engineer with a PE license in heavy civil construction specializes in designing, managing, and overseeing large‑scale infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, tunnels, and utility systems. They combine technical expertise with field experience to ensure projects meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards while staying on schedule and within budget.

This opportunity is with a well-established, medium-sized organizationbased in New Jersey. They are a long‑established, multimillion‑dollar privately owned heavy construction and steel‑erection firm with roots dating back to the early 1900s. The company has evolved from a one‑person steel erection business into one of the East Coast's leading specialists in structural steel erection, precast concrete, bridge rehabilitation, steel fabrication, and tower crane rentals and erection. It has played a major role in shaping landmark infrastructure and building projects across the Philadelphia/South Jersey region and beyond, including contributions to Liberty Place in Philadelphia, the World Trade Center Memorial in New York, and the erection of 13,200 tons of structural steel for Lincoln Financial Field.
Description
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with verified technical competency and authority to approve engineering plans.
- Experienced in managing and executing heavy civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and large‑scale infrastructure.
- Skilled in coordinating field operations, subcontractors, and construction schedules to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements for compliance and quality control.
- Adept at problem‑solving in dynamic job‑site environments, addressing structural, geotechnical, and logistical challenges.
- Strong communicator capable of collaborating with project owners, agencies, designers, and construction teams.

Profile
A successful Civil Engineer should have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction practices and industry standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
