Accounting Manager
This role will manage all accounting activities, working with the leadership team and other departments to ensure the accuracy & efficiency of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This role requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for the industry. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial controls and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.

My client is an innovative cosmetics manufacturer based in Manhattan, specializing in premium beauty and skincare products. They are a forward-thinking company committed to quality, sustainability, and creativity. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a Remote Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations and accounting processes for our fast-paced business.
Description
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Supervise and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Analyze and reconcile financial discrepancies, providing insights for improvement.
- Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) accounting, inventory valuation, and related reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data related to production, marketing, and sales.
- Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documents.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and effectiveness.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in cosmetics manufacturing or consumer goods.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and cost accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP and accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-driven, highly organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
