Description
Reporting to the Director of Preconstruction, the Lead Estimator will:
- Lead quantity takeoffs and develop full cost estimates, including materials, equipment, labor, and utilities.
- Review construction documents, analyze specifications, and prepare detailed estimates to support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Manage prequalification and pre‑bid submissions, ensuring all documents and budgets are completed accurately and submitted before deadlines.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, establish work hours, sequence activities, and support project goals.
- Provide regular updates to management and clients, while anticipating risks, developing contingencies, and maintaining accuracy in cost forecasting.
- Stay current with estimating software, tools, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate across internal teams, conduct site visits, and assist with tasks such as bid deliveries when needed.
Profile
A successful Senior Estimator should have:
- 2+ years of construction estimating experience with a General Contractor
- Strong understanding of scheduling, estimating, and cost‑control principles
- Working knowledge of project management software
- Mature professional with sound judgment
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal ability
- Strong time‑management skills, able to handle multiple priorities with high attention to detail
