This Quality Assurance Engineer role involves ensuring product quality and reliability through the development and maintenance of QA processes, data analysis, and collaboration across departments to meet production schedules and customer needs. Description

The key responsibilities of this role:

  • Managing customer complaints and corrective actions, including product verification, evaluation, root cause analysis, and reporting.
  • Performing final inspections for OEM products and first article prototypes, generating formal reports.
  • Serving as the Quality Assurance Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and coordinating first article inspections (FAI).
  • Conducting instrumented testing on products and maintaining the measurements library.
  • Assisting in the creation and revision of manufacturing work instructions and validating internal nonconformities.
  • Supporting in-process inspections in metal fabrication areas as needed.
  • Contributing to and maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), including internal and external audits.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering on process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring QMS performance and quality key performance indicators to drive data-driven decisions and corrective actions.
  • Interfacing with suppliers to resolve vendor quality issues and supporting material compliance initiatives.

Profile

A successful candidate for this role would likely possess:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes and systems, ideally within an ISO 9001 framework.
  • Proficiency in performing inspections, testing, and generating detailed reports.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, particularly in areas like metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge of material compliance regulations such as REACH and RoHS would be beneficial.
