Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automation systems within a high-volume glass manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and troubleshooting automated systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and quality. Description
The Controls Engineer - Glass Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Design, program, and maintain PLC systems for automated glass manufacturing processes.
- Develop and configure HMI interfaces for operator control and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to integrate new equipment and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, logic diagrams, and software backups.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation reliability and performance.

Profile
The ideal Controls Engineer - Glass Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in controls engineering within manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
- Experience with HMI development and SCADA systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Experience in glass manufacturing or similar high-temperature, continuous process industries.
- Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems.
- Understanding of NFPA 79 and other relevant safety standards.
