Payroll Specialist - 4 days in NYC - Up to $90K

A leading global financial services firm is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its team. This position is a key contributor to payroll operations and requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and professionalism. The role is 4 days on-site at the firm's Manhattan office and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly respected environment. Workday experience, Canadian payroll, and processing payroll for 1k+ employees is highly preferred.

Description

• Process and audit payroll for a global employee populations.
• Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner closely with HR, Finance, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide support for employee inquiries.
• Review and maintain payroll records, adjustments, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Support year-end payroll activities including W-2s, bonus payments, and audits.
• Assist with process improvements and documentation of payroll procedures.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee data.

Profile

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
• Experience processing payroll for populations of 1,000+ employees.
• Experience processing Canadian payroll.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws and best practices.
• Workday payroll system experience strongly preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive problem-solver.
• Comfortable working full-time on-site in a high-performance, professional environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
