General Manager | Precision Gears Manufacturing
Seeking a dynamic, hands‑on General Manager to oversee daily operations and guide the next phase of organizational growth. The company specializes in producing precision ground spur and helical gears, gear assemblies, and custom‑engineered gearing solutions, supporting a wide range of applications across industries such as medical devices, robotics, automotive and motorcycle systems, printing machinery, and industrial equipmentDescription
Operational Leadership- Oversee all onsite operations, including equipment moves, layout improvements, and workflow optimization.
- Build, refine, and document core processes for production, quality, scheduling, and logistics.
- Partner closely with the Production Manager to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Provide temporary oversight of quality functions until a dedicated quality leader is hired.
- Coordinate communication and alignment across production, office, and logistics teams.
- Serve as the primary onsite leader, setting expectations for communication, accountability, and teamwork.
- Motivate and support employees through operational improvements and growth initiatives.
- Work closely with the Production Manager, Engineer, Office Manager, and Purchasing to maintain alignment and momentum.
- Support basic HR functions, including employee engagement and general personnel coordination.
- Take an active role in customer relationship management and external communication.
- Reengage former customers and support expansion of the current account base.
- Contribute to developing a structured sales strategy and long‑term growth plan.
- Represent the organization professionally in engagements with customers, vendors, and partners.
Profile
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing operations; experience in gear manufacturing or precision machining preferred.
- Strong operational mindset with a willingness to be hands‑on.
- Experience in turnaround, scale‑up, or startup‑style environments.
- Background in customer‑facing or sales‑related roles within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to manage diverse responsibilities across operations, quality, staffing, and logistics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both shop‑floor teams and external stakeholders.
Job Offer
- Salary: $160,000 - $175,000
