My client is a family-owned and operated company based in Sterling, VA. Serving the DMV area, they boast an extensive portfolio that includes diverse projects such as hospitality, multifamily, commercial, retail, and restaurant developments. With around 300 full-time employees, they specialize in Plan & Spec and Design-Build/Assist projects and have a growing commercial service and maintenance division, including HVAC and VRF systems. They generate an average of $120 million in annual revenue and currently have over $100 million in backlog.
Description
The Project Manager will oversee 1-5 mechanical construction projects at any given time, ensuring on‑time, within‑budget, high‑quality delivery while maintaining excellent client and GC relationships. This position reports directly to the Project Executive.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day‑to‑day project management from kickoff to closeout
- Develop, manage, and monitor project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate closely with field supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors
- Oversee procurement, submittals, RFIs, and documentation
- Maintain strong communication with clients and GCs
- Ensure safety, quality control, and compliance with project specifications
- Provide regular project reporting and forecasting to leadership
Profile
You are an experienced mechanical construction Project Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, excels at leading complex projects, and communicates with confidence. You take ownership, deliver results, and maintain strong relationships with field teams, executives, clients, and subcontractors.
You Bring:
- 5-10+ years of mechanical construction project management experience
- Proven ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently
- Strong understanding of HVAC, VRF, and mechanical system scopes
- Experience with mid‑to‑large commercial projects
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with field personnel and office staff
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and cost‑control capabilities
