- A reputable general contractor in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for multifamily construction projects.
- The role focuses on managing schedules, subcontractors, and site safety while ensuring quality delivery and on-time project completion.

Our client is a well-established builder and developer in Ohio, delivering multifamily, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and retail projects, including some of the state's most high-profile developments. They place a strong emphasis on employee growth and are seeking a driven Superintendent who can develop within the organization and progress toward a General Superintendent role and beyond.
Description
The Superintendent will be responsible for:
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners, architects, and engineers for day-to-day construction activities.
- Develop and manage the overall project schedule, identify the critical path, and expedite critical materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery.
- Review and resolve subcontractor schedule impacts and productivity claims.
- Make decisions related to scheduling, logistics, delivery, quality control, and trade staffing levels.
- Document field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule and prepare RFIs to clarify questions on plans and specifications.
- Coordinate work among all trades to maintain efficient project operations and resolve site issues related to sequencing, labor, equipment, or design clarification.
- Ensure all required permits and insurance remain current throughout the project duration.
- Assist in managing General Conditions to help maintain the project budget.
- Oversee installation to ensure work complies with approved contract documents and quality standards.
- Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders and leadership to keep progress transparent and proactive.
- Foster a culture of trust and respect while challenging and supporting team members and partners to improve performance.
Profile
The Successfull Superintendent Applicant will have:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in building construction required.
- Strong understanding of general and subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications, along with construction methods, materials, and survey/grade principles.
- Prior residential or multifamily experience-particularly with podium-style construction-is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting practices.
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Proven ability to develop team members by providing stretch assignments supported with appropriate guidance.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
Job Offer
The Superintendent will be offered:
- Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000, depending on experience
- Annual bonus potential of up to 30% of base salary
