Maintenance Manager
Our client is a well established food manufactuer and is looking for a dynamic Maintenance Manager.
Client Details
The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function within our food manufacturing facility, overseeing a team of maintenance technicians and coordinating all plant maintenance activities. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and managing capital and improvement projects. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability, food safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
Description
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
Lead the maintenance department, supervising and developing a team of maintenance technicians, leads, and support staff.
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
Monitor and improve equipment performance and reliability through root cause analysis and continuous improvement practices.
Ensure maintenance practices align with GMP, food safety standards (HACCP, SQF/BRC), and regulatory compliance.
Project & Facilities Management
Manage capital improvement projects, including equipment installation, facility upgrades, and utilities optimization.
Partner with engineering and vendors on new equipment specification, procurement, and commissioning.
Oversee contractors and service providers to ensure safe and effective completion of projects.
Maintain responsibility for facility systems (HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, water, waste systems).
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to build a skilled, engaged team.
Develop shift coverage schedules and assign work orders to ensure timely completion.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
Support professional growth and technical training for maintenance staff.
Financial & Operational Oversight
Develop and manage maintenance department budgets, including labor, spare parts, and capital expenses.
Maintain accurate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) records for work orders, spare parts, and equipment history.
Track KPIs such as equipment uptime, maintenance costs, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
Identify cost-saving opportunities through energy efficiency, asset utilization, and vendor negotiations.
Profile
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent technical experience considered.
5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a food manufacturing, beverage, or CPG environment.
Strong knowledge of food industry regulations (GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, OSHA, EPA).
Experience with CMMS systems, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Skilled in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC troubleshooting.
Proven project management and leadership experience.

Job Offer
$100,000 - $125,000 base salary
