EHS Specialist

The position is responsible for leading all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on‑site, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a strong safety culture across the organization. It oversees daily EHS operations, audits, reporting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to protect employees and the environment.

Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct workplace safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS best practices and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate safety measures into operations.
• Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance measures.
• Stay updated on changes to EHS regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
• Support the development of sustainability initiatives within the organization.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Environmental Sciences.
• Strong communication skills with excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ISO14001, OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.
• Ability to train across all organizational levels, work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Experience implementing and managing EHS programs in engineering and manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with teams.
