Account Manager - Biotechnology

Description
- Lead sales efforts for a specialized portfolio of life science instruments within a defined territory
- Responsible for meeting quarterly and annual sales targets
- Collaborate closely with sales leadership to generate new opportunities
- Retain and grow the existing customer base through consistent engagement
- Ensure customers are fully trained and maximizing use of the products
- Drive upgrades from outdated systems to current technologies
- Expand product usage into additional departments
- Support customers with appropriate consumables and service contract solutions
- Proactively prospect and identify new business opportunities
- Effectively communicate value propositions to potential clients
- Develop and execute strategies to displace competitors and close new sales
Profile
- Experience selling into biotech or GMP-regulated environments preferred
- 10+ years of experience working with biopharma or biotech customers
- Strong understanding of bioprocessing and capital equipment sales
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication skills-both technical and commercial
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Passion for commercial excellence and sales best practices
- Scientific and technical aptitude
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce.com preferred)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 50%
