Program Manager - Defense - Exeter, NH

The Program Manager leads all phases of program execution from proposal through to production while ensuring performance aligns with customer, quality, cost, and schedule expectations. They act as the primary customer liaison and coordinate cross‑functional teams to drive accountability, manage risk, and support strategic objectives.

Description

Reporting directly into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Lead programs from planning through delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements are met.
• Develop and maintain program plans, milestones, budgets, and performance dashboards.
• Track program performance using KPIs and provide clear visibility to leadership and stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Serve as the primary customer interface, managing expectations and maintaining strong relationships.
• Conduct regular internal and external reviews covering status, risks, issues, and contract obligations.
• Support negotiations for program changes, contract modifications, and customer requirements.
• Manage program financials including budgets, forecasts, and profitability while addressing variances.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensure compliance with policies and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote cross‑functional alignment, accountability, and smooth transition of new products into production.

Profile

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field, Project Management, or business
• PMP certification preferred
• 3-5 years of program management experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with contract management
• Knowledge of program management tools
