HR Operations Associate - Hybrid NYC - Finance
As the Senior HR Associate, you'll be the center of the employee experience. This person will be owning the day-to-day people operations of the firm including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits and immigration. You will have the opportunity to build and strengthen processes while supporting a team of world‑class investors and operators. Hybrid in NYC, up to $175K + bonus.

Our client is an established hedge fund with the mindset of a start‑up: lean, fast, and looking to build a world‑class platform that empowers exceptional investment talent. They are now looking to bring on a Sr HR Associate to handle the entire people function - onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and payroll. This role will be perfect for someone who thrives in a high‑ownership environment and is energized by the people operations of a business.
Description
- Own and manage payroll administration, collaborating with Finance and external providers
- Serve as primary administrator for our HRIS (ADP experience is a plus) and ensure clean data, controls, and reporting accuracy
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including compensation updates, bonuses, onboarding, and offboarding
- Serve as the go‑to resource for employees, benefits questions, and day‑to‑day People Ops support
- Lead annual benefits and open enrollment cycles, acting as the liaison to brokers and plan providers
- Assist with open hiring needs by preparing clear job descriptions and keeping our ATS updated (Greenhouse experience is a plus)
- Partner closely with senior leadership on high‑priority people and operational initiatives
- Identify pain points and implement process improvements that strengthen controls, increase clarity, and prepare the firm for long-term growth
Profile
- 5+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Ops, or Payroll-financial services experience is required
- Hands-on experience owning HR systems and payroll processes (ADP experience a plus)
- Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders in a high-performance environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle priorities without dropping the details
- High discretion, integrity, and comfort handling sensitive information
- Hybrid in Midtown Manhattan
