Director of HR - West Coast - $140k-$150k

The Director of HR will report into the VP of HR and lead workforce planning, organizational strategy, succession planning, and compliance for a fast‑growing CPG brand. This position is remote with a preference for west coast alignment. Candidates must have experience across high‑growth environments, ideally consumer startup exposure.



Client Details

Our client is a consumer product goods company that's experienced rapid global growth and industry recognition. They quickly expanded from direct-to-consumer roots into major retail and professional channels. As they continue to grow, they're investing in strengthening their people function to support long-term workforce planning and organizational growth. They are looking for an HR Director to continue building their people function in a thoughtful, human‑centric way. This person will lead workforce planning, build a multi-year org plan, and think through succession. They will own compliance and partner on benefits, org planning, and SOPs.

Startup or high-growth CPG experience is required.

Candidates must have experience leading a team.


Description

  • Lead long-term workforce planning.
  • Develop succession planning frameworks to support leadership growth and future-state org design.
  • Partner with executives to align talent strategy with rapid expansion across global markets.
  • Assess current and future capability needs, including upskilling and career pathing.
  • Provide leadership to HR Team.
  • Oversee compliance.
  • Update and formalize policies, SOPs, and HR processes to support scale.
  • Collaborate with the comp/benefits team on program optimization as the company grows.

Profile

A successful Director of HR should have:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience across high‑growth environments; ideally brings consumer startup exposure.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Strong workforce planning mindset - able to build a 3‑year org plan, think proactively about talent needs, and design scalable structures.
  • Hands-on operator who can flex between strategy and execution, especially in a lean, fast‑moving environment.
  • Comfortable working with teams across multiple states (and time zones).
