HR Associate
The Human Resource Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department and the Operations department in a manufacturing setting. This role assists with day-to-day on-site Human Resource.

A highly reputable global manufacturing supplier of paper materials.
Description
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Delegate more complex questions/ union relation issues to appropriate senior-level Human Resource staff or Operational management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides support to the Human Resource department and site operations manager.
- Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing & processing errors
- Acts as a liaison between Human Resource, the Operations department and local Steelworkers Union.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as employee recognition events, retirement celebrations, and operations meetings as needed (tier 2 meetings & town halls)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Profile
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency in ADP & Workday is encouraged, or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Associate's degree in related field required, or Prior related office experience preferred
- Union experience or working in a manafacutring setting would be highly preferred.
