Their long-standing partnerships with top developers, architects, and subcontractors have earned them a strong reputation for excellence and reliability. With a major project recently secured in Charlottesville, they're looking to add an Assistant Superintendent to support the build and grow with a top-tier team.
Description
The Assistant Superintendent - Charlottesville | Large Projects will be responsible for:
- Supporting daily on-site operations, ensuring work is safe, on schedule, and within budget
- Assisting in managing and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to meet milestones
- Enforcing compliance with project plans, specs, building codes, and safety regulations
- Participating in daily inspections and safety meetings; maintaining an organized and secure job site
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues and keep projects aligned
- Scheduling and supervising all construction phases, from site prep through punch list and closeout
- Maintaining accurate field documentation including daily logs, progress photos, and subcontractor reports
- Supporting quality control by regularly inspecting work in progress
- Managing material deliveries, equipment, and on-site logistics to prevent delays and improve efficiency
- Facilitating communication and coordination between trades to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth workflow
- Serving as a key on-site contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Monitoring project budgets and assisting in identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Providing guidance and mentoring to crew members and junior team member
Profile
The Assistant Superintendent - Charlottesville | Large Projects will have:
- 5+ years of experience supporting Superintendent roles in commercial construction
- Exposure to large-scale, ground-up projects valued at $80M+
- Solid understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and site logistics
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical documents
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project)
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Experience assisting in mentoring and leading crew members
