Accounting Manager
Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. This individual will help assist with managing the team, and will need both retail and supervisory experience

Description

Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, identifying trends and variances to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable accounting standards.

Accounts Management
- Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely payment and collection activities.
- Manage the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure adherence to tax regulations.

Inventory and Cost Control
- Track inventory levels, costs, and valuation to maintain accurate records and optimize profitability.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure proper accounting for inventory shrinkage, damages, or losses.

Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget adherence, highlighting risks and opportunities to management.

Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, conducting performance evaluations and providing training opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Audit and Compliance
- Lead internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales tax and corporate filings.

Systems and Process Improvement
- Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.
Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).

Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Retail industry experience is highly preferred.

Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
