HR Generalist
This growing hospitality company in Brooklyn is looking to add their first HR dedicated hire to the team. As the HR Generalist you will play a critical role in building and formalizing the HR function, ensuring compliance, streamlining processes, and supporting employees. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the company's HR infrastructure from the ground up while working closely with senior leadership.

This organization is a start up in the retail/hospitality sector with an employee population under 50 people. They're very creative, innovative, and collaborative.
Description
- Establish and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws; develop and implement company HR policies and procedures.
- Manage payroll and benefits in collaboration with the company's PEO, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a great employee experience.
- Lead efforts to digitize HR processes, implement an HRIS, and establish efficient record-keeping and reporting structures.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing HR-related inquiries and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Develop structured onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
- Partner with leadership on hiring needs, job descriptions, and recruitment strategies.
- Support the development of employee training initiatives to enhance engagement and retention.
Profile
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in hospitality, retail, or a similar fast-paced industry.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience managing payroll and benefits, ideally with a PEO.
- Familiarity with HRIS and a passion for process improvement and digitization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- A hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Job Offer
- $70-80K annually based on experience
