Description

The Area Safety Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conducting safety audits and inspections across construction sites to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Providing safety training and guidance to employees and subcontractors to promote a safe working environment.
  • Investigating and reporting on incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with project managers and teams to integrate safety best practices into daily operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety activities, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
  • Staying updated on industry safety standards and recommend improvements to current practices.
  • Acting as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.

Profile

A successful Area Safety Manager should have:

  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and standards within the construction industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and programs.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence safety practices among teams.
  • Problem-solving skills to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Relevant certifications in occupational safety or construction safety management are a plus.
