North American HR Director

$130,000 - $150,000/Year

The North America HR Director will lead and execute HR and talent acquisition strategy across multiple U.S. and Canadian locations. This individual will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team, driving workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. This role requires a seasoned HR leader with a strong operational mindset and the ability to influence at all levels. FRENCH PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED.

Client Details

This confidential client is a rapidly expanding international manufacturing company strengthening their footprint across North America. With a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and global collaboration, they looking for a strategic and hands-on French-speaking HR leader to build and align people operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role requires 50% travel and is otherwise remote - several times a month to Saratoga Springs, NY and ability to travel to other US, Canadian, and international locations.

Description

  • Serve as the North American HR lead, partnering with global leadership to align regional people strategy with global objectives.

  • Build and implement scalable HR systems and processes across multiple U.S. and Canadian locations.

  • Lead all aspects of the employee life cycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, employee relations, and retention.

  • Oversee and develop a team of three HR professionals across North America.

  • Partner with operations and business leaders to support rapid growth, organizational design, and change management initiatives.

  • Drive recruitment strategies to attract hourly and salaried talent in competitive labor markets.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and provincial labor laws and company policies.

  • Act as cultural ambassador and change agent, supporting the integration of company values across North American teams.

  • Travel up to 50% across U.S. and Canadian sites, with occasional international travel for global leadership meetings.

Profile

  • Fluency in French and English is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master's degree or HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including multi-site leadership in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Demonstrated success building HR infrastructure and talent strategies in growing organizations.

  • Experience supporting both U.S. and Canadian operations, with strong knowledge of labor law compliance in both countries.

  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capabilities and strong business acumen.

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing HR teams.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence across cultures and organizational levels.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
